Ric Rac (also called Rick Rack or Rik Rak) braid is a timeless classic and extremely versatile trimming. Rick Rack first appeared in the 1860's and was originally called wave crochet/lacet braid. This popular narrow woven braid can be hand sewn, machine stitched, or glued, to the edges of a multitude of different items. Often used to add a "zig-zag" shaped decorative edging border to aprons, bags, curtains, cushions, pillow cases, quilt covers, sheets, pinafores, dolls clothes, handkerchiefs, dressmaking fabrics, dancewear, theatrical costumes, party clothes, millinery, accessories etc. Equally popular for wedding/party invitations, scrapbooking and Christmas/Seasonal card craft projects.
